My microdosing expertise

The value of microdosing

Microdosing is the practice of regularly consuming a very small amount of a classic psychedelic substance such as mushrooms or lsd, typically 5–10% of a recreational dose, with the intention of improving one’s quality of life.

Microdosing does not cause visual disturbances but brings about subtle, yet noticable effects, such as more energy, joy, calmness, focus, feelings of connectedness and presence in the here and now.

To extract all the benefits from microdosing, I recommend making it into an intentional practice that also involves meditation, self-reflection and community connection.

Research has shown that the benefits of microdosing do not come from the placebo-effect alone (even though it is also present!). Taking a tiny amount of psilocybin or lsd can effectively:  

  • temporarily change brain patterns allowing for better cognitive abilities

  • create new neural pathways (neuroplasticity) allowing for more psychological flexibility

  • form new neurons in the brain (neurogenesis)

  • increase REM sleep duration

  • potentially impact estrogen (hormone) levels

 

Alongside esteemed researchers such as James Fadiman PhD, Torsten Passie MD, and Paul Stamets I believe this is only the beginning. 

 

Many people who navigate mental or physical challenges have found microdosing to be particularly helpful :

  • depressive symptoms/postpartum depression

  • recovery from burnout

  • migraines or (cluster) headaches

  • hormonal issues

  • neurodivergent brains

  • damaged or aging brains

 

These reported health benefits are currently being studied in clinical research at universities and pharmaceutical research insitutes.
